Ok so day one is over.....

So launch days is over. The sun still rose this morning and my computer works, oh wait I'm still using xp and OS x 10.5, so no big deal. Well I got the opportunity to open a brand new HP with windows 7 on it yesterday and guess what. While doing windows updates it freezes. Nope no BSOD, just froze and got that fun problem where the only window you can see leaves a trail when you drag it. Yea ctrl+alt+del cleared the screen only to stay that way. So first impression, not to good. It is kinda sad right out of the box damn thing freezes right away. So if anyone else has something good let me know. I wanna see how its going for everyone. Good luck.

So the big day is only a few hours away.....

How will it do? I don't thing we will see anyone standing in lines at 5 am to get there hands on windows 7 but you never know. Stranger things have happened. I am really just waiting for the first big problem to arise. Cant wait to see what they missed this time. As we all know they will. So good luck Microsoft. Hope 7 launches better than anything in the last 12 years.

How can windows 7 fail?????

From:Midnight Blogger
Lets see windows seven. How can it fail or have major problems? Well let me first start by asking in the last thirteen years how many operating systems has Microsoft released that have been a success? Windows 98, the dawn of USB, still failed many times over causing a BSOD. Windows ME, well we wont even go into how pathetic of a OS that was. Windows 2000, a very short life on the consumer market but its short life was its down fall. Being based off of windows NT it was probably one of the more stable versions of windows in years. Next Windows XP, was supposed to have all HP printer drivers built right in so no need to install anything. We that failed in a way only microsoft can achieve. About 40% of all HP printers did not work for several months. Not to mention the ongoing wireless issues that XP had till service pack 2 came along. On to Vista! Oh where oh where to begin. Well being touted as the most secure advanced form of windows it was attacked upon release and in less than 5 days over 500 holes were found. Again many HP printers did not work. This time it was mainly wireless printers. Oh and not to mention all of the computers that were "Vista Ready". That would be why Microsoft is in a class action lawsuit. Most of them did not meet the system requirements to run Vista. Oh an Vista was supposed to have a brand spanking new file system called WINFS, ment to replace the very old NTFS. However in Microsoft time it was not ready nor will it be used in windows 7. So to ask the question will Windows 7 fail? I think the past speeks for it self. Yes i think it will be way better than Vista. Yet we can only wait to see what the next 6 months bring up. An how we can count on microsofts ability to make our lives harder with each new OS. So my advice, stay away from 7 for atleast 6 months. Let pieces fall and wait till they are fixed.
